Brenda's
The Wool Shop was established in 1949 and has enjoyed sixty
years of success.
The
shop was opened in Somerset Road in Farnborough Hampshire
by Brenda when she was just fifteen years old. The shop
originally started selling Wools and Guide and Brownie
uniforms, it wasn't until 1969 that Brenda's started
selling school uniform when a local business that sold
St.Mark's School ties closed down and asked Brenda if
she would take over the responsibility.
The
shop still specialises in wools and knitting yarns, but
school uniform sales create the bulk of the turnover.
Brenda's
has moved a couple of times over the years, firstly,
from It's original location, to 124 Lynchford Road Farnborough
and then in 1968 to 104A Peabody Road and then onto 8 Alexandra Road in May 2008.
We're now planning to open a further branch of Brenda's in Camberley, Surrey for early 2009.
